Ramadan is a month that calls us inward in worship and reflection, but also outward in service. It is a month when we see a shift from contemplation to compassion in action. On the same note, there is a global reality we are all witnessing. As many fast and reflect, millions of families around the world are not choosing hunger; they are enduring it. Conflict, climate disasters, and economic collapse have left entire communities struggling for the basics: food, water, medicine, and shelter.
In Ramadan, your Zakat can lift them out of their struggles and bring relief in their time of need.
God reminds us in Surah At-Tawbah (9:60) that Zakat is for the poor and the needy. In times of disaster, these reminders hold a stronger meaning. They are visible in the faces of displaced mothers, orphaned children, and families who have lost everything, and are our reason for giving.
