Stories of Change

case study 1

A flood erased Ahmed’s livelihood overnight. His farmland, the only source of income and food, was destroyed, leaving his family of six with nothing. He had never known hunger like this. Through Zakat Foundation of America, donors stepped in at the moment of greatest need. A food package meant meals. A cooking set meant dignity. Blankets meant warmth and safety at night. These essentials stabilized Ahmed’s family when survival was uncertain and hope felt distant. Today, those same tools are still used as he rebuilds his farm. Your generosity didn’t just help them endure; it gave Ahmed the strength to begin again.

case study 2

Fatima lives in Tawila refugee camp with her three grandchildren. During the conflict, she lost both her son and daughter-in-law, leaving her fully responsible for the care of her grandchildren. Despite her old age, she struggles every day to meet their basic needs. Her biggest challenge in the camp has been accessing sufficient food. With our food package, she received essentials such as flour, rice, and oil, which helped her prepare regular meals for several weeks.

Fatima expressed that the assistance gave her strength and hope, as her grandchildren could finally sleep without hunger.
