As the winter chill is thawing around us, it is easy to forget that refugees are suffering from freezing conditions in open-air camps near or in Syria.

Providing refugee relief to these people is more important than ever.

Just this week, attacks in Syria have forced the LARGEST exodus of civilians since World War II. These civilians are fleeing their homes with little to no possessions or belongings. To make matters worse, Russian and Syrian forces are deliberately targeting nearby the camps they are escaping to.

These displaced civilians are in dire need of basic essentials for survival. It is a matter of life and death and the most vulnerable are children. Al Jazeera has reported that children are freezing to death OR dying from carbon monoxide poisoning from desperate measures to stay warm this winter. From gas heaters to toxins in the air from burning trash to stay warm, refugees are risking their lives.

Imagine running to save your life only to have your life in peril from the harsh winter elements.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has put out a statement saying this has been “biggest humanitarian horror story of the 21st Century.” Since Dec. 1, 2019, more than 900,000 civilians have been displaced. A large portion of these are women and children. With little or no shelter, these refugees are in constant fear of attacks. In this chaos, even humanitarian workers are at risk of being killed.

Now, more than ever, your gifts can mean the difference between life and death.

For just $50, you can provide a winter relief package that provides, food, a blanket, and shoes. Please make a gift to our Emergency Relief Program today.
