Zakat Foundation of America is appalled and heartbroken by the senseless acts of violence that struck Paris, Beirut, and Baghdad in the last week, resulting in a staggering loss of innocent life. We unequivocally condemn these attacks and grieve for the victims and their families. But our prayers for healing go out to all those affected by violent extremism, whether in France, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Palestine, or anywhere else subjected to the daily horrors of normalized inhumanity. And we must not forget that the majority of the victims are Muslims.
Every day, Zakat Foundation of America strives to help create a world in which the hatred that drives extremism would have no place, where the light of understanding replaces blind ignorance, and where the common dignity we all share as human beings makes these heinous acts unconscionable. Insha’Allah we will continue our mission to help those who need it most wherever they are and regardless of race, color, or creed, in the true humanitarian spirit of Islam.
