The city of Aleppo has been suffering for more than 6 weeks. The eastern part of the largest city in Syria witnessed the worst bombardment in 6 years, even hospitals and aid convoys were targeted. Hundreds lost their lives. The ferocity of the bombing left large areas of the city without vital supplies and services, and according to the United Nations estimates more than 275 thousand under siege with no end in sight.
The American Zakat Committee is mobilizing to help the people of Syria in their time of need by sending trucks full of food baskets that contain rice, potatoes, cooking oil and pasta. These trucks will unload their loads of supplies that help stability and comfort in the midst of the chaos of war.
