At Zakat Foundation of America, we believe that education plays a vital role in providing opportunities and growth for so many individuals and communities throughout the world. Access to quality education breaks down barriers and creates a more equitable society for all. It allows individuals to harness their socioeconomic power and improve their lives. Providing access to educational opportunities allows individuals to positively contribute to their communities and provide economic stability.
Working across 25 countries, we believe in fostering education by creating pathways for the most vulnerable of communities. Poverty and financial constraints force many families to forgo the education of their children, and education empowers individuals by helping them gain confidence and autonomy. Along with that, education also breaks the cycles of poverty and aids a whole family in becoming self-sufficient. At Zakat Foundation of America, we are able to create change by:
Covering tuition costs
Distributing school supplies
Providing home-based support for orphans and at risk children.
This aid is also extended to adults by providing vocational training which provides life-long skills.
Since 2001, we have provided educational support for over 548,000 individuals and over 2,000 sponsored orphans.
