The Zakat Foundation of America Volunteer Honors Program recognizes volunteers across the United States for their service, leadership, and community impact.

Who's Eligibile

Deadline to Apply: March 15, 2027

  • Has volunteer hours between March 1, 2026 – February 28, 2027

  • U.S. based volunteers

  • Verified hours required

  • Award recipients must attend the April ceremony to receive recognition.

  • Required Documentation: Volunteer portal logs

  • Ages 5–10 (Junior Heroes)

  • Ages 11–17 (Youth Leadership Awards)

  • Ages 18+ (Adult Volunteer Awards)

Submit your volunteer hours (between March 1, 2026February 28, 2027) to be considered for official awards and recognition. To receive your award, honorees must attend our April ceremony.


Award Levels

Recognition is based on total verified service hours.

Community Awards
  • Junior Heroes (Ages 5–10)
  • 10+ hours → Junior Helper Badge
  • 24+ hours → Junior Service Star
  • 36+ hours → Junior Kindness Champion
  • Youth (Ages 11–17)
  • 25–50 hours → Youth Service Ribbon
  • 51–100 hours → Youth Community Builder
  • 101–200 hours → ZF Youth Excellence Award
  • Adult (Ages 18+)
  • 50+ hours → Community Service Star
  • 100+ hours → Humanitarian Service Ribbon

Yes. Our community service awards are open to all volunteers.

Absolutely. Our program begins at age 5 to encourage early service.

Yes. Participants may qualify for multiple categories based on hours and impact.

Applicants are welcome to apply for both the Community Award and the ZF Core Award, provided that each application is supported by its own separate set of volunteer hours.

To ensure a fair and consistent process:

  • Volunteer hours may not be used for more than one award.

  • Applicants applying for both awards must submit non‑overlapping, distinct hours for each.

  • A separate application is required for each award you wish to apply for.
