The Close Bond Between a Mother and Her Son

The Rukyaths of a nation still remembers those early mornings as they woke up at dawn in their small, unfinished house built on a plot of land shared with five other families. Roqyath said that she spends the morning hours making toys out of strings, then the rest of the day selling them to neighbors, and that her young son, Muhammad Ayman, may always be by her side.

Her husband passed away and Omar Muhammad was four years old at the time, and after her husband’s death, she did not have any source of income and did not have any financial aid. At that time, some people advised her to migrate outside the country, hoping that she would find better job opportunities, but that may mean her separation from her only son. It was the constant dream that Roqyath still had is for her son Muhammad to go to school to receive an education.

In the year 2009, a representative of one of the institutions, known as “Beit Al Khair”, which works in partnership with the Zakat Foundation, met the Roqyath family in a Sri Lankan city and recommended their inclusion in the Orphan Care Program (OSP) sponsored by the Zakat Foundation.

By the grace of God and thanks to the donors through the Zakat Foundation, Muhammad Ayman has now become one of the beneficiaries of the program, and this means that all his study needs, including registration fees, school supplies, clothes, and meals will be provided by the orphan care program.

Young Muhammad expressed his feeling of the care he received from the orphan care program and said, “I am very happy to go to school and have excellent new friends.” Regarding his future aspirations, Muhammad Ayman said, “I want to be a lawyer when I grow up.”

On her part, Roqyath expressed her happiness and thanks when she said, “I am happy because my son is with me and I always pray for all those who worked and helped my son and who provided me with an opportunity to live with my son. Because they helped us change our lifestyle

At the present time, Muhammad Ayman continues his studies in the seventh grade, and his mother has chosen to continue her sewing work as a side profession and she hopes to have her sewing machine one day, but now she is completely satisfied with what she got from stable work and the most important thing is Watching her son grow up and continue studying him in front of her eyes.
