Dear Friend,
Peace be upon you.
When we last visited Maha, she ran outside to greet us, then excitedly rushed to take out her markers and write you the note on the back of this sheet.
Just 10 days before she was born, Maha lost her father to a massive heart attack. Her mother Haseena was left with mounting medical bills, four children to feed, and zero income. She told us she used to weep every day and pray for a miracle.
Somewhere across the globe, one donor considered a simple gift of $2/day, and it became the miracle Haseena cried for.
“Your support came at the worst time of our lives. You have opened a door to a bright future for my children. You gave us new hope and strength to go on. I will never forget you and I’m always praying for you.” Haseena wanted you to know.
Maha used to sleep on an empty stomach. Maha could once only dream of going to school. But, because someone chose to give — perhaps inspired by the Prophet’s invitation to be with him in the Garden — today she is well nourished, happy, and consistently ranks in the top of her class. Her motto in life is “to be educated and educate others.”
In 2018, you helped us uplift more than 75,000 orphans and vulnerable children. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Now as 2019 comes to a close, let us empower more children. Please consider making your end-of-year, tax-deductible, zakat-eligible, donation to help more children like Maha.
Peace and blessings upon you and your loved ones,
Halil Demir
