WASHINGTON D.C. (Feb. 8, 2018) – Zakat Foundation of America
Executive Director Halil Demir attended the 66th annual National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, Thursday as one of 3,000 specially invited guests. The gathering gave Demir an opportunity to meet with top leaders in the humanitarian relief community.
He made special reference to Tony Hall, executive director emeritus of Alliance to End Hunger, as well as former South Carolina Governor David Beasley, an important advocate of humanitarian assistance, education and intercultural and interfaith cooperation for the world’s most vulnerable people.
Additionally, he cited Ambassador Elizabeth Frawley Bagley, Special Advisor for Secretary’s Initiatives in the Obama administration and a director of the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children, a global nonprofit advocating against the sexual exploitation and trafficking of children.
The event allowed Demir to apprise an array of humanitarian and nongovernmental organization heads of Zakat Foundation global programs and initiatives.
