Why Emergency Relief Is Necessary

People around the world are suffering at a mass scale. From the mass humanitarian crisis in Syria to the lockdown in Kashmir, there are people who need our help through emergency relief. Inaction is not an option. On the field, we are often brought to tears seeing the state of the people we are helping. Those people can easily be one of us. No one is guaranteed safety and security.

In Idlib, we see parents forced to burn garbage to keep their children warm. In Kashmir, we have seen mothers not knowing where their children are. In Gaza, we have seen people who are refused basic necessities for life. The people of Yemen now face being blocked from receiving aid from the United States.

The one thing that motivates us to keep doing what we do is what we witness when we greet those in need. They look at us as if we are angels coming to uplift them. Truly, we aren’t. We are the ones who are being the gift of being able to help them. When we help people with our Emergency Relief Program, we see it an opportunity to earn God’s rewards and forgiveness.

In the Quran, we are promised by God that we will see our charity multiplied in rewards and abundance:

“Who is it that would loan Allah a goodly loan so He may multiply it for him many times over? And it is Allah who withholds and grants abundance, and to Him you will be returned.” (Surat Al-Baqarah, 2:245)

We have all been so blessed to live in a state of peace and be given the opportunity to earn a living. However, with our blessings we will be asked how we spent our time and resources. If you haven’t considered making a gift to our Emergency Relief Program, now is the time. Our Emergency Relief Program focuses on providing immediate relief to areas stricken with conflict and natural disasters. We provide much-needed resources such as nutritious food, drinkable water, protective shelter, bedding, clothing, medicines, and more. We don’t just stop at giving immediate aid: we stay in communities to assist in the rebuilding process where we can. Your gift can make a difference. Join us in helping others today.
