Zakat Foundation in the Ivory Coast

Zakat Foundation of America supporters annually provide a full month of Iftar meals to generously feed hundreds of Muslim families in the Ivory Coast each Ramadan. A couple months later, the country’s food-insecure receive thousands of pounds of Udhiyah (Qurbani) sacrifice annually from locally raised cattle.

While the Ivory Coast has enjoyed rapid economic growth, poverty remains high at 46.3%. As a result, the Ivory Coast faces higher rates of maternal mortality and infant malnutrition. We are on the ground in the Ivory Coast with our Seasonal Islamic Giving Program, which is geared toward providing nutritional food packets and thousands of pounds of freshly slaughtered, humanely raised local livestock.
