Response to Humanitarian Crisis
Bosnia and Herzegovina faces a growing humanitarian crisis in 2026. Political tensions threaten constitutional order and deepen ethnic divisions, raising uncertainty ahead of upcoming elections.
The country remains a key transit route for migrants and refugees. Tens of thousands face inadequate shelter, limited services, and winter risks, especially unaccompanied children. Recent snowfall and flood threats in areas like Konjic and Kalinovik have disrupted transport and livelihoods, adding to vulnerabilities.
Zakat Foundation of America provided emergency relief during the October 2025 flash flooding with food, clothing, and winter relief. We continue to provide life-saving support through our Seasonal Islamic Giving Program, delivering food during Ramadan and protein-rich meat at Udhiyah-Qurbani, restoring hope and dignity to families facing layered crises.
