Our Afghanistan Earthquake Relief Efforts

afg1

Starting on October 7th, 2023, western Afghanistan was rocked by a series of earthquakes and aftershocks, devastating a population already severely impacted by malnutrition and economic hardships.

The Afghanistan earthquakes, whose magnitudes all exceeded 6.0, destroyed an estimated 21,000 homes, damaged 17,000 others and impacted a total of over 154,000 people. With winter arriving shortly after the devastation, displaced Afghans have been left in severe cold and without stable shelter, food, medical support and sources for income. They face immediate food and medical emergencies if sufficient aid isn’t continually delivered to them.

Since the beginning of the earthquake crisis, our ground team in Afghanistan has been mobilized to ensure displaced Afghan adults, children and families have received crucial aid in the form of medical supplies, hygiene kits, tents, floor mats and food.
