Historic Earthquake Devastates Marrakesh

With a death toll surpassing 2,800 and continuing to rise, a deadly  6.8 magnitude devastating earthquake, whose epicenter was the High Atlas Mountains, wreaked havoc in mountain villages and towns including Marrakesh on September 8^th, 2023.  As rescuers race to find survivors, loved ones recover from the trauma of falling infrastructure not built to withstand the worst earthquake in over 120 years. Our Emergency Response team is moving reserved emergency aid from Istanbul, Turkiye to Marrakesh.
