Volunteers Help With Hope Mobile Pantry Program - This summer, Zakat Foundation of America volunteers continue to make a difference in their communities and beyond.
Last week, Zakat Foundation of America volunteers teamed up with the Hope Lutheran Church in Newcastle, Delaware to assist with the Hope Mobile Pantry program. Volunteers packed fresh fruit and vegetables which were provided by the Food Bank of Delaware. The packages were then distributed to families in need from the local community.
More than a hundred people showed up to take advantage of the program. Many expressed their gratitude to the volunteers for their service.
We really appreciate all the help you give us,” said one of the church volunteers. “We don’t have enough volunteers to distribute the food so each time you show up we are glad; and the time you are not there we really miss having you.”
