Zakat Foundation of America Establishes School in Turkey for Syrian Refugees

Zakat Foundation of America, a US-based humanitarian relief organization, has sponsored a School in Turkey for Syrian Refugees - children who fled from civil war in their country to be able to continue their education.

Zakat Foundation of America is paying educational expenses for 720 students in Gaziantep’s Sehitkamil Olcay Kulah primary and secondary school.

Yesterday a ceremony marked the official opening of the school. Coordinator Governor Veysel Dalmazis participated in this ceremony. Zakat Foundation of America representative in Turkey, Mehmet Demir, said Zakat Foundation of America is covering the costs for 720 students’ tuition, supplies, books, bags and clothing, as well as 25 Syrian teachers’ salaries.

Suleiman Osman, inspector in charge of Syrian students, thanked Zakat Foundation of America for sponsoring the education of these students.
