Rebuild Destroyed Homes in Gaza

“Our life was simple and beautiful in this house,” says Ahmed Mustghfar. “This was all before the last war in Gaza.” Ahmed is referring to the military assault in the summer of 2014 when missiles rained down upon Gaza, killing over 1,000 Palestinian civilians. Sadly, the Mustghfar family were also victims of this attack.

They were having the suhoor meal inside their home when a missile hit their building. The family immediately ran outside and watched as their neighbor’s home fell onto theirs, completely demolishing it. In the aftermath of the war, over 18,000 homes were completely destroyed or severely damaged across Gaza. Over 100,000 Palestinians remain homeless.

Zakat Foundation of America’s (Zakat Foundation of America) Rebuild Gaza campaign was launched in response to the massive displacement in Gaza.Collaborating with United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) to repair and rebuild damaged homes, the campaign is active in providing the necessary shelter that Palestinian families have lost. Zakat Foundation of America encourages you to join the campaign to help Rebuild Gaza by contributing today.
