Ramadan in the City of Brotherly Love

Zakat Foundation of America hosted an Iftar dinner on a beautiful Tuesday evening for more than 400 people at Masjid al Jamia in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Zakat Foundation of America sponsored the warm meal, which included authentic Turkish baklava for dessert. This was the sixth annual dinner the nonprofit organization provided for the local community.

“Zakat Foundation has been doing programs in Philadelphia for more than seven years,” said Nafeesa Majeed, Zakat Foundation of America East Coast Coordinator. “We hope to increase our programs in the Philadelphia area.”

It was a beautiful Iftar,” added Professor Hakan Ozdener, a volunteer and Zakat Foundation of America supporter, who also teaches at nearby Temple University. “May Allah (SWT) reward everyone who has contributed to this event.”
