Zakat Foundation of America (ZF) is deeply saddened at the news of the bombing that occurred at the Boston Marathon Monday afternoon. We offer our sincere condolences to the families who have lost loved ones and to those who have been injured by this cowardly act.
All of us at ZF commend the first responders: police, fire fighters, paramedics and volunteers who rushed to the scene to help those in need, sacrificing their own safety for the good of others and exemplifying the values that as Americans we hold dear. Their courage and bravery speaks volumes about the enduring spirit of the American people. Contrary to the wishes of those who would harm our great nation, this time of great tragedy has brought out the best in us.
We have confidence that the concerted efforts of law enforcement will bring those responsible for this atrocity to justice. Although some voices are attempting to use this incident to spread hatred and fear among the American people, we stand in solidarity with all those who believe in truth and justice.
