Zakat Foundation of America representatives Safaa Zarzour and Noura Almasri dispatched to war torn Syria to aid those most in need. Hostile environments in Syria have resulted in many people without food and proper clothing. Since March 2011, Zakat Foundation of America has been on the grounds in Syria.
In April 2013, Zakat Foundation of America was at the “Alqah Camp” on the border of Syria and Turkey unloading needed goods. Many of the items included nonperishable food and each box contained items to sustain each family for one month. Over 40 volunteers unloaded the needed items and took it inland to be distributed to some of those most affected by the violence
