From Thirst to Triumph
A Dream Come True
“We are bringing you water!” The words echoed to her heart as the elderly Gambian woman saw our representatives digging for a borehole.
Her face was full of joy as she anxiously awaited the borehole inauguration. Months after its installation, she confidently shares that it has significantly improved their quality of life.
Before the borehole, the family bought expensive water for their large household. Some days, the Sukuta water seller's delays prompted them to seek water from neighbors or use a horse carriage to fetch buckets from a distance, especially challenging for the town's women.
Now, she walks 5 minutes to fetch water for cooking, washing, and drinking. Supporting water projects brings hope and ease to the lives of those in need and provides a new outlook on life.

The Gift of Water
An old nonfunctional well, dug by the village chief, meant families had to seek out clean water elsewhere. However, your support has spread a collective sigh of relief across the village in Mali and specifically amongst the women.
Time and energy are no longer wasted on the journey to secure clean water. After just one week of Zakat Foundation of America’s well installation, life has proven less challenging. Residents take a short 5-minute walk to the well and have water for cooking, showering, and drinking. Children are no longer late for school and are ready to take on the day.
The gift of water is a continuous charity that magnifies your impact. Bringing ease to families living in conflict zones or facing poverty is a multiplied reward
