While most of Zakat Foundation of America’s (ZF) programs are international, we also offer USA programs that have been specifically created to serve our local community. As a part of this effort, we offer a number of different services to anyone who seeks our assistance. From educational classes for underprivileged youth to family workshops with licensed therapists, we offer valuable services for anyone who may be in need.

Some of our USA-based efforts include:

  • Providing hot meals to underserved communities during Ramadan
  • Allocating fresh meat to needy families during Udhiya/Qurbani
  • Distributing food packages and other necessities to communities in need year-round
  • Supplying backpacks filled with tools for education at the start of the school year to families in need
  • Shielding the most vulnerable of our society from the cold through winter kit distributions
  • Offering wellness services and workshops through the ZF Chicago Community Hub
  • Initiating refugee resettlement efforts that have resulted in projects like the establishment of the Rohingya Cultural Center in Chicago, the first of its kind in the USA
