Amina Demir

Director, Donor Relations

Amina Demir has been an employee at Zakat Foundation of America for over 12 years. She began her career as an intern at the age of 17 and has moved from the Programs Department to the Accounting Department and ultimately becoming the Director of Donor Relations. Having spent her childhood in Switzerland with an African-American mother and Kurdish father Amina views the world through multiple spectrum’s. Amina’s multicultural background is an inspiration for most of her work. Amina Demir graduated from Chicago State University Cum Laude with a BA in History and a focus on African American History since 1845. Amina was accepted to San Diego State University for her Masters to continue her educational journey. Amina is a part of the American Historical Association. As well as her philanthropically and sociological interests Amina is a certified Personal Trainer and Certified Nutritionist. Amina currently resides on the Southside of Chicago with her three-year-old daughter.
