Raza Farrukh

Following 20 years of service at AT&T’s Research Labs, Farrukh paved the way for Islamic activism in America. No stranger to volunteering and Islamic engagement he served as the President of the Chicago Chapter of the Islamic Circle of North America in the late 1980s. The following decade he continued his passion for Islamic work in New Jersey through developing Islamic websites and family programs such as Muslim Youth Day at Six Flags Great Adventures. He is one of the founders of “Why Islam”, a successful dawah organization that disseminates accurate information of Islam across North America. From the year 2000 forward he increased his involvement by serving as Chairperson at the ICNA Annual Convention held in Philadelphia in 2003, volunteered as Board Member of a major charitable organization to help in the relief efforts in response to Hurricane Katrina in 2005, as well as relief efforts to help victims of the Kosovo crisis. From 2009-2012 he volunteered as chairperson for Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD) where he served 10 years as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President.
