The Syrian situation has escalated almost daily as the government responds to peaceful protests with indiscriminate violence. The death toll has increased into the thousands and not much is known about the injured because many Syrians have avoided hospital care for fear of imprisonment. Over ten thousand have been arrested for their participation in the demonstrations. The humanitarian situation in Syria went from bad to worse.
