Somalia Cholera Outbreak
Emergency Relief
Cholera Victim
Zakat Foundation allocated $10,000 to an immediate response to the recent outbreak of cholera in Somali refugee camps that caused the death of more than 600 people from April to June 2009. The majority of the ill and dead were children under the age of five. As the first phase of intervention, Zakat Foundation has provided bottled water and oral/intravenous re-hydration solutions to treat the most sever cases in the refugee camps where we work.
