USA Tornado & Flood Disaster Relief
Emergency Relief
Deadly tornadoes and thunderstorms ripped through the Southern United States in late April 2011, devastating dozens of cities and killing hundreds of people across five states.
In the city of Tuscaloosa, Alabama 200-mph winds swept homes off their foundations. Alabama’s Emergency Management Agency estimates that the storms and severe winds that created the tornadoes killed at least 250 people in that state alone.
The costs to repair damage done to infrastructure and peoples well being will run into the tens of millions.
Zakat Foundation of America launches its USA Tornado & Flood Disaster Relief to alleviate the suffering and loss affecting those in Alabama as well as other states experiencing severe weather.
