An alarming number of refugee women from Somalia, Ethiopia and other countries in the region are fleeing to Kenya alone. They remain at high risk for human trafficking, kidnap and exploitation while they look for work and shelter. Zakat Foundation supports Heshima Kenya’s Safe House for Refugee women in Nairobi, which provides shelter, skill-training and care for dozens of refugee women who are in need of immediate protection.
