Blanket Distribution for New Delhi Slums
Emergency Relief
During the winter months, Zakat Foundation sponsored the distribution of warm clothing and blankets for hundreds of families living in the slums of New Delhi, India.
Many of these families live in shanty huts made from scrap metal and other garbage, leaving them exposed to the harsh weather during winter nights.
Every year, Zakat Foundation works in the Nazimia community to provide poor Muslim and Christian Indian families with clothing, blankets and food to help get them through the harsh winter. Zakat Foundation was recognized by local Indian media for our charity work, particularly that of a Muslim charity organization working with an Indian Christian community to provide for both Muslims and Christians.
Zakat Foundation of America, a Muslim charity that collects zakat, sadaqa / donations to provide humanitarian, emergency relief and sustainable development programs to empower lives throughout the world. We offer top Zakat resources including The Zakat Handbook: A Practical Guide for Muslims in the West, Zakat kit, ask an Imam feature, and you can calculate and pay zakat through our easy, online calculator.
