Cyclone Sidr
Emergency Relief
In August 2007, torrential rains and subsequent flooding devastated the southern coast of Bangladesh and only a few months later, the country was rocked by Cyclone Sidr. Hundreds of thousands of families were left homeless, without food and basic medical care. Many of the communities that were affected were devastated by the 2004 Tsunami and had not recuperated before this new disaster hit.
Zakat Foundation delivered immediate emergency aid, including food packages and temporary shelters, that benefited tens of thousands of victims.
