During the 2008 Udhiya/Qurbani season, donors and supporters of Zakat Foundation were able to provide fresh meat to more than 63,000 hungry and needy families in 35 countries. In addition, 1,000 orphans and disadvantaged children were delighted to receive Eid gifts during Eid ul-Adha.
From blockaded Gaza and famine-stricken Somalia, to Kashmir and Pattani, Thailand, many beneficiaries enjoyed the nutrition of meat for the first time in years. Through careful planning and partnership, the Zakat Foundation was able to ensure that the cows, sheep, and rams dedicated to the noble Udhiya/Qurbani sacrifice were healthy and well maintained.
