Every year, the desire of donors to attain inner tranquility and to partake in outward charity enables the Zakat Foundation to reach hundreds of thousands of poor and needy with food packages and iftar-dinners throughout the blessed days of Ramadan, as well as Zakat ul-Fitr and Eid gifts in celebration of Eid ul-Fitr.
Through the Grace of Allah and the devotion of our supporters, Zakat Foundation was able to provide food for nearly 200,000 people during Ramadan 2008. With the cost of food continuously rising and the global economy in an increasingly unstable state, the generosity of the compassionate have ensured that many were provided for during the days and evenings of Ramadan. This year, Zakat Foundation’s Ramadan Program benefited those needy from 29 different countries:
