Aqeeqah
Children are a blessing and they bring joy and happiness when they enter our lives. The birth of a child is a time to rejoice and give thanks to the Creator by sharing with the hungry and the destitute. Aqeeqah is a gracious program by which new parents and family members can celebrate the miracle of birth while making charitable work one of the first actions done on the child’s behalf.
Zakat Foundation facilitates the Islamic tradition of Aqeeqah by dedicating the best quality cows and sheep and distributing fresh meat to needy families in communities where we work, at home and abroad, on behalf of the grateful parents of a newborn child.
Donors can arrange Aqeeqah on behalf of their own children or as a gift for loved ones in any of the countries where we work. The parents will receive a photo of a banner with the child’s name and date of birth, taken with the deserving, thankful beneficiaries of the distribution.
