Zakat Foundation of America

Officially the Republic of Uganda, Uganda is a landlocked country in East Africa bordered by Kenya, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda and Tanzania.

Uganda has been through several humanitarian crises including civil conflict, food crisis, flooding, refugee influx, and persistent droughts. Uganda is one of the poorest countries in the world and the vast majority of Ugandans are farmers on small plots of land which are used for subsistence agriculture or for the cultivation of cash crops such as coffee and tea. When natural disasters occur such as drought or flooding, farming becomes impossible and the Ugandan people lose their crops and livestock.

Currently, Zakat Foundation of America (ZF) is building wells to provide clean water through the One Year, 100 Wells campaign.
