Zakat Foundation of America

From the 1970s to 90s, Mozambique suffered one of the worst economic meltdowns of the 20th century defined by drought, economic dependence on foreign aid, and civil war.

Although poverty levels are extremely high, the country has used agriculture as their economic staple in recent years in an effort to reform. To reinforce this agricultural movement Zakat Foundation of America has pioneered a long-term sustainable program known as permaculture to the people of Mozambique.

Zakat Foundation of America (ZF) has operated in Mozambique through 2011.
