Eid ul-Adha commemorates the Prophet Ibrahim’s (peace be upon him) willingness to sacrifice his beloved son Ismail (peace be upon him) to please Allah (swt). This holy season reminds us to submit to the will of Allah (swt) as our beloved Prophets did.
During Eid ul-Adha we show our submission before Allah (swt) by sharing what we have with the poor and destitute. In 2011, your Udhiya/Qurbani served 100,000 families in 41 Countries, Alhumdulillah.
This year we hope to provide help and comfort to the people who are most in need, including Syrians inside and outside of their country, as well as to the Rohingya Muslims of Myanmar (Burma). Please choose the country(ies) where you would like Zakat Foundation of America (ZF) to perform Udhiya/Qurbani on your behalf.
ZF ensures the best quality meat for distribution by buying well-maintained livestock from local farmers in each country about six weeks before Eid ul-Adha. Then, according to the practices of the Prophet (peace be upon him), the animals are fed and nurtured until the day of distribution. Our Udhiya/Qurbani is fresh, never frozen, and is performed on the first day of Eid ul-Adha.
